Stephens County OK, Democratic March Meeting

April 1, 2013

You were missed at the Stephens County Democratic Party’s monthly meeting Thursday night, March 28, 2013. A good time was had by all! We are still asking for pledges to keep our year-round office open at 16 South 8th Street, Duncan OK 73553. Any assistance that you can provide in this endeavor is greatly appreciated.

Brenda Merchant, Oklahoma Waste Connections Representative, gave a very informative overview of the benefits of the recycling program scheduled to begin May 2, 2013. Although the beginning phase of the program only affects Duncan, Marlow and Comanche, plans are already being studied to bring the rest of our country into the 21st Century with this much needed ecological fix. She also informed us that a more expanded presentation would be scheduled for City Council Meetings, County Commission Meetings, Kiwanis Club, City Chanmbers of Commerce meetings as well as others. Therefore, there is still time for you to bring yourselves up-to-speed prior to May 1st.

For those that are interested in the program, copies of the materials presented at our meeting, along with other handouts, are available for pick-up at our office on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10AM to 2PM. With our limited party participation keeping the office open 5 days a week, please call ahead to 580-252-1976.
